Who is Therese? Therese Åhs is the person behind Natalie Moody. She is 27 years old and lives in Gothenburg, Sweden. She is engaged to Tommy (aka. Rambo Dean in SL), who is also the administrator of this website and her manager in Second Life. She works as a personal assistant to people with disabilities. She's a caring and funny person who describes herself as "a little bit crazy... but in a good way!". Some of her goals in life are travelling the globe, being able to one day live off her music and the main goal is just to be as happy as possible. What about the music? Therese grew up with music, as her father and brother both have been proffessional musicians for many years. She's been singing for as long as she's been talking and she learned to play guitar when she was 14 years old. It didn't take long before she started writing her own songs and today she has written over 50 songs, and is still going strong. Right now she only does live performances in Second Life but she will soon try to step out into the real world to do gigs outside of cyberspace aswell. She collaborates with songwriter/pianist/producer Robert Lundgren and they have a little project in the making. More information about that will be revealed at a later time. What are her influences? Since Therese grew up in a family of music lovers she has a very wide music taste. She grew up listening to The Beatles, ABBA, The Eagles, Queen, Bruce Springsteen and many more. She's a fan of singer/songwriters like Alanis Morisette, Jewel, Sheryl Crow, Louise Hoffsten, Edwin McCain, Lisa Miskovsky, Laleh and Anouk. Her all time favourite group though, is The Corrs. How about Second Life and how does it work to perform live there? When Therese first ventured into Second Life as Natalie Moody she had no clue what it was. By accident she flew into Nomad Rovios house, and it turned out to be a lucky coincidence since Nomad is a live music enthusiast who works actively to promote musicians in SL. He took Natalie under his wing and organized a concert in one of his venues. It turned out really well and today she does an average of two live performances per week in Second Life, a limit she has set herself since she wants to be able to keep up with work and the rest of real life. The live performance itself takes place in her guestroom/home studio in Gothenburg. Using a studio mic plugged into the computer she streams the music out into cyberspace and then it links back into Second Life. The stream can also be picked up in any media player. |
