Yesterdays gig at the Swedish Resource Center (SRC) in Swedish was alot of fun but today I'm back to my old routine and tonight's gig will be in English. Soft Shadows Club is the place, 21.00 is the time. I'll be playing that new song of mine "To be taken in" and the rest you'll just have to come there to see :)

Love

Natalie

Tonight's performance was changed from the Irish pub The Lucky Clover to Svenskt Resurscenter and thus, the whole show changed. For the first time since I started performing in SL, and maybe even the only time, I'm going to do all the talking in Swedish. Have no fear though, I'm not going to turn it into a habit, I will be back to english tomorrow at Soft Shadows Club, I promise :)

Swedish Musicians - new group in SL Print E-mail
Written by Natalie Moody

I decided to start a new group in SL yesterday called Swedish Musicians. The majority of the information will be in Swedish and it is for Swedish musicians and DJ's in Second Life. I made it so that we all could have a sort of forum to get help with streaming and advice when it comes to all sorts of things that has to do with performing in SL. Anyone who's interested can join of course but the main though is that the group would be for musicians and DJ's who are actively performing or planning to perform in SL. It's free to join!

This is the description in the group charter... sorry, but it's in swedish:

"Detta är tänkt som en grupp där vi kan snacka fritt om musik, där vi kan ta stöd av varandra och ge råd och tips. Det kan vara om hur man gör när man streamar, vart man kan vända sig för att få spelningar eller för att prata om låtskriveri. Gruppen är i första hand för aktiva musiker och DJ's men självklart är nyfikna också välkomna. Men var beredda på att det kommer att pratas i chatten då och då! :)"

My side of the story Print E-mail

I might be wierd, but I like to google myself from time to time. I search for Natalie Moody and I search for Therese Åhs. Things add on as time goes by and there's articles, blogs and all sorts of fun stuff, and yesterday this new thing came up. A paper, from the students Elina Hasslund and Matilda Wiechel, about Second Life, and I see that I'm mentioned in it, and that they also talked about the benefit that me and Johan Howard arranged together with Barncancerfonden. I got all excited and started reading and damn, I was sooo disappointed! They apparently didn't have any clue what they were talking about and I was really upset after. I'm going to comment on a few things...

"Natalie Moody sjunger svenska barnsånger."

That means: Natalie Moody sings Swedish childrens songs. Yeah right! Since it was a benefit for sick kids we opened the show with a song about children but the rest was our own songs with a few covers. And where's the information about us being two on stage? It was me and Ross LeShelle but they totally left him out.

This basically means that I was unhappy with the fact that people didn't clap enough or show enough excitement and that I told them to leave if they didn't get more involved. That was NOT what happened! What I did was to ask people to not go away from their keyboards and leave their avatars with an "away" sing over their heads. Since I knew that there were many people trying to get in I asked those who where planning to leave their computers to simply leave the area so that those who wanted to listen and be active could be. I was in no way unsatisfied with the people's response.

It was also pretty obvious that the only research they had done about me was to read the article in DN from 1/3-2007 wich itself was faulty in many ways. Anyway, I just wanted to set the record straight. I would in no way ask people to leave just because they didn't shout stuff and clap alot, that's just stupid. And by the way... I actually know alot of childrens songs but I don't sing them in Second Life.

Wedding bells in Second Life Print E-mail
Written by Natalie Moody
Monday, 11 June 2007

Today me and Rambo Dean attended our first wedding in Second Life. First was the ceremony at a nice little church, with a priest and all. The brides to be both looked beautiful and there was even a walk down the aisle, bridal bouquets and everything. They had written their own vows and they were beautiful and moving. In Sweden there's a big debate at the moment about legalizing gay marriages, but in Second Life there are no such laws. It was just as normal as anyrhing else that these two girls could get married in a church, no prejudice, no judgement, just happiness over the fact that two people have found eachother. Why can't we have that in this life too??

After the wedding ceremony they invited everyone to a club owned by one of the brides and I played a set there. Me and Rambo also got them two paintings of the SL artist Zeppie Innis. In RL his name is Stefan Damman and I think he's soo talented. One day I wish to own one of his paintings in RL.

Tomorrow is the event "Natalie Personligt" at the Swedish Resource Center in Second Life and from what I've heard it will be a sort of chat-interview where people can ask me questions in the chat and I'm supposed to answer in the microphone and stream it back... I don't know. I'm a bit nervous, I have to admit, but let's hope all goes well :)
